The next couple of years are set to produce some of the most spectacular Northern Lights displays in recent times – so this is the perfect time to join Andy Keen on the Great Aurora Hunt!

Join the Great Aurora Hunt – our highly-successful new package, offered in conjunction with Specialised Tours. The tour includes 3 nights of Aurora Hunting under the guidance of Andy Keen – a highly acclaimed photographer and experienced aurora hunter, in the pristine wilderness of Finnish Lapland, well away from all light pollution. Evening aurora-hunting will generally last about five hours each night, with warm drinks,light refreshments and photographic tuition as required.

Unfortunately all dates for the current winter are now fully booked, however we are now offering a series of tours in September, which can be an excellent time for Northern Lights. Of course, there will be no snow at that time, but September gives you the chance to enjoy the stunning autumn colours of Finnish Lapland, and also allows you to go aurora hunting in more comfortable temperatures!

Departure dates: Sundays 9, 16, 23  Sept 2012.
Price: £1,295 p.p. in twin/double and £1,425 in single room.
Supplement for departure from Manchester: £100pp
Price includes return Finnair flights from London, Heathrow, transfers in Ivalo, 4 nights half-board at Guesthouse Husky, 3 nights of Aurora Hunting with Andy Keen and photographic tuition if required.

Guesthouse Husky is situated in lovely rural surroundings a couple of miles from Ivalo, and is indeed at a husky farm. The cosy guesthouse has recently been built to a very high standard with just six comfortable bedrooms with en-suite shower/w.c. There is a guest lounge and kitchen where hot drinks can be made at any time, and a pleasant dining room where you can enjoy breakfast and dinner.

Daytime activities could include hiking with huskies, a boat-trip on Lake Inari, or a ‘Pick and Bake’ where you can pick berries from the forest and afterwards bake something Finnish together. Otherwise you can just explore as you please.
